Hi, I’m Maja Szumylo, and while I absolutely love photography, my true calling is people — seeing them, feeling them, and helping them reconnect with the beauty that’s already within.
My photography is all about real emotions, authentic connection, and capturing your light. I use my natural ability to truly see people — beyond the surface — to create images filled with soul, images that evoke emotion every time you look at them. Your photographs will be a reminder of your love, your strength, your story — as an individual, as a couple, or as a family. They’ll transport you back to those fleeting moments: the arrival of your precious baby, the warmth of connection, the spark of possibility — captured to be remembered for generations to come.
That’s why this page is called About You, because everything I create is centred around you — your unique beauty, your relationships, your true self. The camera is my favourite tool, but it’s only an extension of my heart — a way to preserve what really matters: raw emotion, your story, your essence.
I was born in the south of Poland, where my love for people, nature, and life began. Following my dreams, I moved to Australia with my best friend and husband — together we’ve built a life filled with love, adventure, and the joy of raising our two beautiful girls, my greatest treasures.
But photography is just one part of who I am. I’m also a Clinical Naturopath, which for me is deeply connected to my photography. Whether I’m supporting someone’s health or capturing their image, my passion remains the same — to help people feel seen, to reconnect with their true potential, and to honour the beauty that exists within every human being. Whether through healing or art, I believe in celebrating life in its raw, powerful, and vulnerable moments.
Years ago, I realised I saw the world differently — the raw beauty, the energy, the emotion in people that sometimes even they forget is there. Photography became my way of sharing that vision — of reminding you how extraordinary you truly are.
